Technical information

Intended use

The protective fence is a "separating protective device" as defined in EN ISO 14120: 2015-11. The protective fence is approved against impacts (according to EN 14120 Annex C2) with a force of 1400 joules. The contents of the standards listed in the chapter Requirements for separating protective devices that apply to the protective fence must be observed. The protective fence is intended for industrial use and not for private use.

 

Requirements for guards

IMPORTANT: For the planning and protection of a hazardous area by means of guards, the following standards must be taken into account in the currently valid version:

  • DIN EN ISO 13857
    "Safety of machinery - Safety distances to prevent hazard zones being reached by the upper and lower limbs".
  • DIN EN ISO 12100
    "Safety of machinery - General principles for design, risk assessment and risk reduction".
  • DIN EN ISO 14119
    "Safety of machinery - Interlocking devices associated with guards - Principles for design and selection".
  • DIN EN ISO 14120
    "Safety of machinery - Guards - General requirements for the design and construction of fixed and movable guards".

Safety devices must be in perfect condition and regularly inspected according to the manufacturer's specifications and work regulations.

In the standard EN ISO 13857: 2008 "Safety of machinery - Safety distances to prevent hazard zones being reached by the upper and lower limbs", dimensions for the safety distances are as shown in the picture above.
